The Cleveland Cavaliers enter Thursday's match-up looking strong with four consecutive victories to solidify their lead atop the Eastern Conference at 44-10 and with an advantage of five games over Boston Celtics, but will face a difficult test from Brooklyn Nets this Thursday night.
The Nets have fallen to 20-34 overall and are hoping to secure a play-in spot in the playoffs by winning six out of their last seven games prior to this matchup with Cleveland Cavaliers. Head-to-head matchups between these rival teams have seen 25 victories for Cleveland over 45 matches between them and Nets.
However, Brooklyn is dealing with injuries ahead of this contest: Cam Thomas (hamstring) and Noah Clowney (ankle sprain) have both been sidelined; De'Anthony Melton remains out due to an ACL tear - forcing D'Angelo Russell and Cameron Johnson to step up as scorer replacements.
On the other hand, Cleveland's defense has been impressive as of late. Allowing just 111.9 points per game ranks fifth among NBA teams while being one of the better defenses at stopping opposing three-point attempts, I would suggest backing Cleveland -13 points as an underdog road favorite here - this seems like great value!
