The Miami Heat have won just one of their last three games and will look to end their current losing streak when they face Charlotte Hornets at Kaseya Center on Monday at 7:30 pm ET. Miami are listed as underdogs with an over/under total set at 215.5 points.
Miami's offense has consistently failed to reach 115 points this season, while their defense has allowed opponents under 110. I expect these teams to combine for less than 215 points and recommend taking the under here.
On the other hand, Charlotte Hornets have an offensive efficiency slightly below league average while their defensive ratings rank near the bottom of the league - giving up 110.8 points per contest and 45.3 rebounds each game.
Recent struggles for the team are attributable to Kemba Walker, an All-Star point guard who was traded earlier this month to Washington Wizards and who hasn't played much since being moved there. Although without Walker the team has struggled greatly but should be healthy for this contest and will compete well against Miami on both ends of the court.
The Heat have gone 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 home games and 21-14-1 when favored by at least four points this season when being given that advantage. They've won 13 out of 15 road contests against Charlotte Hornets without falling victim since late January!
