Six of the Nets' last seven home underdog games against opponents on the second leg of back-to-backs have gone UNDER, suggesting this game could be another high scoring affair. Both teams rank near the top half in terms of pace so a slowdown should not be an issue; however, Boston can quickly go on runs to build their lead and cover this spread quickly if left unchecked by keeping pace at a comfortable rate for an extended period.
Boston's defense has been outstanding this season and will need to remain at its peak against Brooklyn. Boston allows opponents the lowest three-point percentage in the NBA while forcing plenty of turnovers - however, Brooklyn boasts an equally effective defensive unit that holds opponents to relatively few points per game.
Jayson Tatum has been playing at an exceptional level, propelling the Celtics' offense. They possess multiple weapons to score from multiple angles. Nicolas Claxton will play an essential role in helping the Nets control the glass; their 28th ranking in rebounding shows they need help and Claxton should be able to deliver. He should do just that against the Celtics tonight.
