South Carolina has been one of the hottest teams in college football this season and should take full advantage of Illinois' struggling defense. Even without Kyle Kennard's contributions (he won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and led SEC with 11.5 sacks), South Carolina should still have enough firepower to pull off an upset win at Orlando Stadium.

Illinois lost leading receiver Pat Bryant due to injury and must find new ways of scoring points without him. Junior quarterback Luke Altmyer has proven more than capable, totaling 2,543 passing yards and 21 touchdowns so far this season. But South Carolina's defense will present Altmyer with an immense challenge; ranking 32nd nationally in pass defense while only permitting 188.1 yards of ground game per game allowed.

South Carolina stands as a solid underdog at -10.5, given their recent run down the stretch and strong rushing attack. If they can recapture the momentum from their win over Northwestern, head coach Steve Spurrier may enjoy another satisfying win here. However, ESPN's FPI analytics actually favored Illinois in 11 of 12 regular-season games but fell short during their unlikely upset of Michigan; should that performance continue against South Carolina, then it wouldn't come as much of a shocker!
