Following their impressive win against Ohio State, Oregon must remain on their A game against a Purdue team that has proven capable of creating some unexpected outcomes - West Lafayette hosts Boilermakers who may pull off some wild upsets - so Oregon must bring their A game if they hope for any chance at victory against an opponent as volatile as this team has proven itself in recent history.
Oregon was impressive against Notre Dame last week, yet Oregon cannot depend solely on running against Purdue's defense. They rank 118th in Line Yards Allowed and 106th in Havoc Created; yet struggled to disrupt Oregon's run game against them. If Oregon can establish its ground attack early and maintain it throughout, Oregon should control the tempo of this matchup.
Oregon will need to use caution with their passing game if they hope to prevail against Boilermaker quarterback Tyler Hohman and Notre Dame's impressive secondary. Oregon can put up plenty of points through its offense; however, to be effective it must also rely on its efficient passing game for victory.
Taz Reddicks and Anthony Hankerson will need to be targeted often if the Beavers want to move the ball effectively downfield, yet cannot count on much help from Purdue's secondary. Since they lack pure speed, they must rely on making plays through chipping away at corners or finding openings in the middle.
