Oklahoma State Football Feedback/Bud Light GameTime After giving up over 700 yards against Arkansas last week, the Cowboys must make improvements on defense if they want to make an assault on a conference championship this year.
Tulsa boasts an experienced offensive line that rushed for over 1,500 yards last season and return four starters, led by first team all-conference center Chandler Miller who is one of the premier players at his position in all of football.
Tulsa will always have an effective running game regardless of who starts at quarterback; both Deneric Price and Shamari Brooks ran for over 200 yards each in Week One against FCS Northwestern State. If Tulsa can find ways to consistently pick up first downs and drain the clock more easily then success should become much simpler.
Tulsa's passing attack will remain somewhat of an unknown factor this season. After losing two 1,000 yard receivers and replacing them with younger players, Kamdyn Benjamin leads an excellent receiving corps in Tulsa. Jordan Mitchell and Travon Fuller, graduate transfers from Power Five schools who have started for those teams before being traded over to Tulsa are returning with Tulsa defense, providing experience and big play potential while being challenged by a potency Cowboys offense.
