Illinois Chicago will travel to Seattle University for a basketball contest this week and is looking forward to an uphill battle as they aim to break their three-game losing streak against Reign.
UIC defeated Little Rock Trojans 77-69 in overtime with sophomore guard Javon Jackson scoring 15 points on 5-of-11 3-point shooting to set a career-high and senior forward Modestas Kancleris notching his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively.
The Redhawks' defense has been one of their standout features this season, holding opponents to only 51.5 points per game and ranking 317th nationally. Unfortunately, their offense has struggled, as evidenced by their negative -58.5 scoring differential; this may be partly attributed to an inability to hit three-pointers (they have only made 4 out of 14 attempts this year).
Seattle has had two close encounters this season but have managed to avoid major defeats. Their only loss came against No. 24 Virginia while No. 25 Duke claimed both wins against them.
